Lumi

I sooooo want to be knitting right now. There’s a few reasons that’s not happening. The first is it’s 80 degrees here in Florida. Happy Christmas! The second reason is I have a kitten that has never seen yarn and two other animals that have (and LOVE to eat it). Third, I’m still prepping things for the new shop and managing my printables shop, and coordinating Christmas shopping/crafting… oh yeah and there’s the day job…

I’m a bit over scheduled.

But that doesn’t mean I can’t take a break from time to time and “window shop” all the knitty goodness on Etsy. That’s where I found the-most-adorable-cutie-in-a-scarf-evah! Specifically, I found her at Lumi, a UK based shop that sells accessories and childrenswear. This little darling was so cute that I could not resist adding a little snow to finish off her look.

Now, shoo and check out the rest of the shop; I’ve got work to do!

wrist worms

Crocheted wrist warmers by Sandra Juto, aren’t they sweet? It’s about time for KNIT ALL THE THINGS season and I’m planning on using up ALL my extra yarn. It will be a challenge, but skeins of yarn seem to multiply like bunnies in my craft closet so I have no choice but to use it up.

And, just so you can see what it’s like inside my head, while posting this I’ve been singing “inch worm” – the Danny Kay version from the movie Hans Christian Andersen (gosh, I’m old).

Then, I remembered this from The Muppet Show:

mamy factory

Oh my goodness! I do have a particular fondness for baby-sized knits. My Mom is a fantastically talented knitter, and loves to donate knitted baby hats and mittens to the maternity ward of the local hospital. Not to mention the fact that she graciously knits me up a baby blanket to gift every time a friend is expecting (BEST MOM EVER!). So, when I saw Mamy Factory I was smitten with the business model and all the care and detail they’ve infused every knitted treasure with. When you visit their site it defaults to French but there is an English version you can select at the top left of the landing page. What a sweet find!
